First post in Japan
Each day at 7am, midday and 5pm they play 3 different tunes throughout the speakers in Owase city to let everyone know what time it is. This has now become one of my favourite things, maybe it has something to do with the fact that the midday bell is also a reminder that it’s lunch time…But really, there’s just something really kool about the whole city listening to the same music at the same time, reminds me of that Marriage of Figaro scene from The Shawshank Redmeption.
Edit: I’ve since learnt the song names: Owase Bushi for noon, Kumano Kodo Tabibito for afternoon, and boring old Ode to Joy in the morning.
